Lisa Sanchez-Johnsen is the Director of the Multicultural and Latino Health Research Program, and Director of Bariatric Research in the Department of Surgery at UIC. She has been involved in research and clinical work with Latinos and other ethnic minorities in the area of culturally competent health behavior research for nearly 20 years. Lisa is active in national Latino organizations (Past Board Member and Editor of the National Latino Psychological Association) and Latino health organizations (founder/past chair of the Ethnic Minority Health Interest Group, Society of Behavioral Medicine). She is also the Founder and past Chair of two Latino community health advisory boards, in which she oversees community engaged and participatory research.
