ChicagoCHEC Learning Experiences and Programs (LEaP)

ChicagoCHEC Learning Experiences and Programs (LEaP) supports alumni of the CHEC Fellows Program for a semester or summer term to have a one-on-one mentored immersion experience after the CHEC Fellows program. The experiences can be related to wet or dry lab cancer research in a research laboratory or an experience with one of our community partners to further prepare students for the research workforce and graduate/professional programs focused on the nexus of cancer and health disparities.

Carmenisha (Carmen) Ward from the 2018 and Lashonya Phillips from the 2019 ChicagoCHEC fellows cohort. Carmen participated in LEaP program activities in the Simon lab at Northwestern in the spring of 2020.
