Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine
Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine in Chicago, Illinois is recruiting a clinical research nurse with interest and experience in providing guideline-based tobacco cessation treatment. The nurse will be a part of the Tobacco Cessation Program within the Cancer Survivorship Institute of the Robert H Lurie Comprehensive Cancer Center of Northwestern University. As a population-based treatment program, our overall objective is to reduce the smoking prevalence among individuals who receive their cancer care within the Northwestern Medicine Health System.
The clinical research nurse will be a member of the multidisciplinary team of psychologists, physicians, nurses, and health educators. The nurse will have primary responsibility for delivering tobacco cessation treatment in the oncology setting and by telephone. In addition, the nurse will work closely with the team on ongoing program evaluation and quality improvement initiatives along with the dissemination of program results to Lurie Cancer Center and Northwestern Medicine leadership and clinical and research partners.
Our program is a part of the National Cancer Institute’s Cancer Center Cessation Initiative (C3I). Building upon the success of our first two years, we are preparing to expand the tobacco cessation program to Northwestern Medicine oncology clinics throughout the Chicagoland area.
